Mat-Su Valley Fish & Game Advisory Committee
Voted to Request a Region II Split with the Mat-Su Valley Becoming a its own Region IV

Meadow Lakes, AK- January 25, 2010

Mat-Su Valley Fish & Game Advisory Committee has voted to request the Mat-Su Valley be split from Region II into its own Region IV. This will create a new region of the Mat-Su Valley and separate the Mat-Su from Anchorage.

Steve Darilek, Mat-Su Valley F&G Advisory Committee chair is requesting letters of support.

All letters of support are due by February 1st, 2010.

This is a necessary step in order to gain greater control over local game issues and protect what makes our community and Alaska unique. The next MLCC meeting isn't until February 10th and I wanted to make the community aware of this before the next meeting.

I'm hoping there will be a motion to write a support letter to send from the MLCC. In the meantime I'll write a letter stating that the MLCC is very interested in this issue and it will be brought up at our next meeting to be discussed by the community.
