 Trail folks,

MSB is submitting an application for grant funding through the
Recreational Trails Grant program administered by Alaska State Parks.
MSB intends to use the grant funds to obtain the services of a
professional surveying firm to survey the extensive network of
recreational trails in the Big Lake-Knik-Houston area. These are
multiple-use trails widely used by a diverse group of recreationists
on a year-round basis. Portions of some of the trails are limited to
winter-use due to wet ground. The ultimate goal is to secure
recreational trail easements along the routes to preserve future
public use and enjoyment of the trails and to provide for signing,
marking, maintenance and management of the trails.

MSB encourages feedback and letters of support of the above mentioned
actions to provide for dedicated, safe and enjoyable recreational
experiences on the numerous trails in the Big Lake-Knik-Houston area.
Letters of support may be sent to MSB Land Management, 350 E. Dahlia
Ave., Palmer, AK 99645 (Attn: Bruce Paulsen) or emails may be sent as
a reply to this solicitation. Please pass this on to others who may be
interested in the trails and support surveying/easement acquisition.

If you have questions you may contact me at 745-9867.
